Puzzle Parking System

It is a setup where platforms move both vertically and horizontally, like sliding puzzle pieces, so each car can be reached on its own. A stack parking system, on the other hand, only moves up and down — so the car above usually has to move first. With one platform position kept empty, a puzzle system can shift things around and clear a path to whichever car you need.

For a non-pit setup, Sedan-over-Sedan needs around 3400mm, going up to about 4400mm for SUV-over-SUV. For a pit version, the total clear height needed is a bit more — roughly 3750mm to 4550mm depending on the combination — but the pit itself runs 2050mm to 2350mm deep, which offsets that. Best to get your site measured before deciding.

It runs on a hydraulic servo system — about 3.5 metres per minute going up and 2.4 metres per minute coming down. That is quicker than typical chain-driven lifts, which is one reason puzzle systems are popular where speed matters, like hotels or office buildings.

Limit switches, non-return valves, wheel stoppers, electromechanical locks on each platform, car height sensors, in/out sensors, and an emergency stopper. These work together to stop movement if something is in the way and keep platforms locked in place when not moving.

Standard setups take vehicles up to around 5000mm long, 1900mm wide, and 2000mm tall, with weight up to about 2200 kg per platform — covering most Sedans and SUVs. If you have a mix of vehicle sizes, mention it upfront so the platforms get sized right.

It does cost more, mainly because of the extra sliding mechanism and sensors. But you get independent access to every car without moving others around — faster retrieval and less daily hassle, especially in buildings shared by multiple users.
